Variants of this model differ. This is the most configurable machine in the batch and the name 'E-Cruise' alone tells a buyer almost nothing. ZNEN's own page offers THREE motors — 60V3000W, 72V3000W and 72V4700W — FIVE battery configurations — 60V28Ah, 60V20Ah, 72V20Ah, 72V46Ah and 72V20Ah×2 — in either LITHIUM OR LEAD-ACID chemistry, and THREE top speeds: 25, 45 and 80 km/h. Those speeds are different legal classes: 25 km/h and 45 km/h are moped/L1e territory while 80 km/h is a motorcycle-class machine requiring a different licence, different insurance and different homologation, yet all three are sold under one model name. Lead-acid versus lithium is the other decisive variable — for the same nominal Ah, lead-acid gives far less usable energy, a fraction of the cycle life and much greater mass, and the single published 88 kg net weight cannot be true of both chemistries. The 60 km range figure is not attributed to any of these combinations. Separately, ZNEN also sells an 'E-Cruise 3', an 800 W machine which is a completely different and much smaller product — do not conflate it with the E-Cruise. Before buying, get the motor rating, the pack chemistry, the pack configuration and the homologated speed class in writing for every unit in the lot; two units badged E-Cruise can differ by more than a factor of two in performance and by an entire licence category.
