The Right Segway Max Scooters for Your Shared Mobility Fleet
Max 2.2/G30, Max 2.3, Max Pro and Max Plus compared: the most widely used shared-scooter platform, second-hand, refurbished and connected to your app.
Segway's Max family is one of the most recognisable and widely used shared-scooter platforms in the world. At Fleetser, we can supply second-hand Max variants, connect them to your existing rider app, and refurbish them as needed, so you can deploy a proven fleet in around a week instead of waiting months for new production.
Why second-hand Segway Max scooters make sense
New shared scooters often carry long manufacturing and delivery lead times. Because second-hand Segway Max scooters are already produced, Fleetser can help you get vehicles on the street far faster, typically within a week rather than the roughly six months often associated with a new-production order.
Second-hand supply also lowers your purchase price per vehicle. That lets you deploy more scooters for the same capital, test new markets faster, and keep cash available for batteries, operations, maintenance and growth. Fleetser can inspect and refurbish the fleet before deployment, so you receive rider-ready hardware rather than unmanaged used stock.
Any app, connected and ready
Segway's commercial Max scooters include built-in IoT designed for fleet operations, with support for abnormal-situation alarms, data collection, diagnostics and rich API capabilities.
Fleetser can help connect your Max fleet to the app or fleet-management platform you already use. Depending on the variant and configuration, this can include:
- Remote lock and unlock
- Live GPS tracking
- Battery and vehicle diagnostics
- Geofencing and slow zones
- Theft, tamper and movement alerts
- API-based integration with your rider app

Max 2.2 and G30-based fleets
The original Max G30 platform became a global shared-mobility standard because it combines a 350 W rear motor, 10-inch pneumatic tyres, front drum braking, rear electronic braking and a 551 Wh battery. The consumer G30D is listed with up to 65 km theoretical range, 20% climbing ability, 100 kg maximum rider load and a weight of about 19.5 kg.
Shared-fleet versions are typically configured with 25 km/h speed limits and swappable 36 V / 551 Wh batteries. Fleetser lists the G30 with a 350 W rated motor and up to 65 km range, making it a strong second-hand option for operators that want proven hardware at a lower acquisition cost.
Max 2.3
The Max 2.3 is a later shared-fleet evolution of the Max platform. It retains the familiar 350 W rear-wheel-drive setup and 10-inch tyres, but is configured as a heavier, more operationally robust fleet scooter with a swappable 36 V / 551 Wh battery.
It is specified with a 25 km/h top speed, at least 50 km range, vehicle IPX4 protection and a weight of about 27.5 kg. For operators replacing an existing Max fleet, the Max 2.3 is often a natural fit because it keeps the familiar riding experience while offering fleet-oriented hardware.
Max Pro
The Max Pro is aimed at operators that want a commercial scooter with strong range and deeper connected-fleet functionality. Segway specifies a 350 W rated motor, 25 km/h top speed and up to 60 km travel range.
Its pre-installed IoT device supports abnormal-situation alarms, detailed data collection and analysis, and rich API capabilities. That makes it especially suitable for operators that need detailed vehicle telemetry and flexible integration with their own software stack.
Max Plus and Max Plus X
The Max Plus family is Segway's more advanced commercial Max platform. It uses a secure IoT unit integrated into the dashboard, designed to resist vandalism while supporting alarms, extensive data collection and rich APIs.
The current Max series includes Max S90L, Max S100 and Max Plus X configurations, with 36 V battery options of 551 Wh or 1,033 Wh, PU-filled tyres and a reinforced aluminium frame. These models are best suited to operators that want newer hardware, stronger connectivity and a more future-proof fleet platform.
Which Max should you choose?
- Choose Max 2.2 / G30-based units for the lowest-cost entry into a proven, globally supported shared-scooter platform.
- Choose Max 2.3 if you want a later fleet version with swappable batteries and familiar Max handling.
- Choose Max Pro if telemetry, diagnostics and API flexibility are central to your operation.
- Choose Max Plus / Max Plus X if you want newer commercial hardware with secure integrated IoT and advanced fleet features.
How Fleetser helps
Fleetser can help you source second-hand Segway Max fleets, refurbish them where required, and integrate them with your rider app or fleet-management system. Because the scooters are already manufactured, second-hand supply can reduce both lead time and upfront cost, getting you from purchase decision to live operations in around a week rather than waiting months for new production.
A second-hand Segway Max fleet gives you proven hardware, lower capital intensity and faster deployment. With Fleetser's refurbishment and app-integration support, you can launch or scale a connected shared-mobility service without waiting for a new-production cycle.
